Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Sherwood Concrete website and any work you hire us to do. When you browse the site, send us a request or accept an estimate, you're agreeing to them, so please read them first.

If a written estimate or contract we sign with you says something different from this page, the signed document wins for that job. You can start from our home page, learn who we are on our About page, or reach us through our Contact page.

What we do

Sherwood Concrete is a concrete contractor in Sherwood, OR. We pour and repair flatwork, which covers driveways, patios, sidewalks and garage floors. We also build steps, retaining walls, footings, slab foundations, pool decks and decorative and stamped concrete, and we do concrete cutting and foundation raising.

What's on this website is general information about the trade and how we usually work. It isn't advice for your particular house, because every slab depends on the ground under it, the drainage around it and what you'll use it for. The scope of your job is whatever your written estimate or contract says.

Estimates and pricing

We give free on-site estimates with no obligation, because we need to see the ground, the access and where the water runs before we can price a job honestly. An estimate is based on what we can see that day and on material prices at the time, so it's good for the period written on it.

Some things only show up once the old concrete is out and the ground is open, such as soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the slab sits on, buried debris, roots or old footings. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you, and agree on the change and its cost with you before we do the extra work.

Any prices on this site or given by phone are general and aren't a quote for your job. The only binding price is the one in your signed estimate or contract.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We set your start date when you accept the estimate, and we'll tell you if anything moves it. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may push a pour back for rain, freezing temperatures or heavy heat, because pouring in the wrong conditions makes a weaker slab.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength before it can take weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk and drive on, and you're responsible for keeping people, pets and vehicles off it until then.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us at (971) 626-0086 as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials, set forms or done other work for your job, we may charge for that work and any costs we can't get back, as your estimate or contract describes.

Payment

Your estimate or contract sets out how much is due, when it's due and how you can pay. Some jobs need a deposit before we schedule, so we can order material and hold your date.

Payment is due on the dates written in your agreement. If a payment is late, we may pause work, charge the late fees or interest your agreement allows and Oregon law permits, and use the lien rights Oregon gives contractors.

Our work and what we can't promise

We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our workmanship. We dig out and pack the base, plan the drainage and cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack. Any written warranty on your job comes only from your signed estimate or contract.

Concrete is a natural material, and some hairline cracking, small color differences and surface variation are normal, even on a well-built slab. We can't promise that a slab will never crack, and normal shrinkage cracks aren't defects.

We aren't responsible for damage caused by things outside our control, such as soil movement, tree roots, standing water from gutters or grading we didn't do, deicing salts, heavy vehicles beyond what the slab was built for, or using it before it has cured. Apart from what's in your written agreement, the website and its content are provided as they are, without other warranties.

Limits on our liability

To the extent Oregon law allows, Sherwood Concrete isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of your driveway, lost income or inconvenience. Our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

Before we start, please tell us about anything buried in the work area that a utility locate won't find, such as sprinkler lines, private gas or electric lines, septic parts or drain pipes. We can't be responsible for damage to lines we weren't told about.

If something goes wrong

If you're unhappy with any part of the work, call us first, because most problems get fixed fastest when we come out and look at them together. Please give us a reasonable chance to make it right before you take other steps.

If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. Anything that still isn't resolved will be handled in the state courts of the Oregon county where the work was done.

Oregon law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the current one. Changes don't affect a signed estimate or contract you already have with us.

If you have a question about these terms, call us at (971) 626-0086 or use our Contact page, and we reply within 1 business day.
